Gazakh

Gazakh and its surrounding villages have been renowned centers of carpet weaving in Azerbaijan for centuries. Carpets from the Gazakh school have consistently captured the attention of international buyers with their unique ornaments and hold well-deserved places in prestigious museums worldwide, including the Berlin Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Hermitage, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Budapest Art Museum.

This jewelry piece draws inspiration from the ‘Aghajly’ carpet of Shikhly, a notable example from the Gazakh carpet-weaving school. Shikhly carpets exemplify classic Azerbaijani folk art. The elongated central motif resembles a cypress tree—a symbol considered sacred in both the Middle East and Azerbaijan.
