Tovuz

This model draws inspiration from the emblem of Tovuz and its ancient carpets. Although Tovuz was only recently designated a city, it is one of Azerbaijan’s oldest inhabited regions, home to indigenous peoples. This is evidenced by numerous ancient monuments and unique patterns on antique plates uncovered during archaeological excavations. Ashuq music, an integral part of Tovuz folklore and culture, is symbolically represented on the pieces by the national musical instrument, the ‘Saz’.
