Lachak-Turunj
This piece draws inspiration from the “Lachak Turunj” composition, featuring two essential elements: “lachak” (interpreted as a petal or face) and “turunj” (a bitter orange). In ancient times, turunj was a cherished gift due to its pleasant aroma. Copper trays filled with these fruits were placed or hung in the room’s center—a tradition still observed in North-East Iran. Some believe this practice has linked turunj with the carpet’s central motif.
