Chalabi
These cufflinks are inspired by the central medallion of Chalabi carpets from Azerbaijan’s Garabagh carpet school. These carpets boast a truly unique design, featuring a captivating medallion at the center. Apart from Chalabis, this design appears only in the Barjid carpets of South Azerbaijan and is rare elsewhere in the Orient. The medallion is believed to depict a double-headed bird known to guard Paradise in oriental mythology. A cruciform at the medallion’s center symbolizes the four primal elements: earth, water, wind, and fire.
