Kashi

This model draws inspiration from Kiashi, an ornament traditionally found in Ganja and Garabakh carpets, which literally means ‘glazed tile’. The reason behind its name is unclear, but it likely stems from its shape and patterns resembling tiles commonly used to adorn both the exterior and interior walls of mosques and palaces across the Muslim world. Consequently, Kiashi serves as a crucial link between carpets and architecture, reflecting the fusion and interconnection of various art forms.
