Kashi

This model draws inspiration from a motif found in the Ganja and Garabakh carpets, known as Kiashi, which literally translates to ‘glazed tile’. The origin of this name is uncertain, but it may be due to its resemblance to the tiles commonly used to adorn the interior and exterior walls of mosques and palaces throughout the Muslim world. Hence, Kiashi forms a significant connection between carpet design and architecture, showcasing the fusion and interrelation of diverse art forms.
