Zagatala

The design draws inspiration from the Zakatala medallion, traditionally featured on long rugs. The Zakatala or Zakataly district comprises a cluster of villages approximately 75 miles north of Ganja in the central Caucasus. Due to its geographical position, Zakatala motifs share similarities with those of Qazakh. However, they are categorized separately as they are primarily found on 19th and early 20th-century rugs that have only recently entered the Western market. Alongside these motifs, Lesghi stars, Memling guls, and the Fachralo medallion are also present in Zakatala rugs.
