Butaly

Buta is an ancient and cherished Oriental motif, likely named after the Persian word ‘boteh,’ meaning a shrub similar to a thistle. This ornament became popular with the British, who adopted it from India and incorporated it into their textiles. Known in the West as the Paisley pattern, it takes its name from the Scottish town famous for producing these fabrics.
