Chalabi
This piece is inspired by the central medallion of Chalabi carpets from the Garabagh school of Azerbaijan. The design of these carpets is truly unique, featuring a captivating and enigmatic medallion at their center. In addition to Chalabi carpets, similar designs appear in Barjid carpets of South Azerbaijan and are found nowhere else in the Orient. The medallion is believed to depict a double-headed bird that, according to oriental mythology, guards Paradise. At its center, a cruciform symbolizes the four primal elements: earth, water, wind, and fire.
