Kashi
This piece is inspired by an ornament popular in Ganja and Garabagh carpets called Kiashi, which literally means ‘glazed tile.’ The origin of its name is unclear, but one might guess that its shape and decorations resemble the tiles used extensively to embellish the walls of mosques and palaces in the Muslim world. Therefore, Kiashi represents an important connection between carpets and architecture, showcasing the fusion of various art forms.
