The jewelry piece is inspired by the ‘Shadda’ pileless carpets, traditionally woven in Nakhchivan. This region, mythically recognized as Noah’s ark’s first resting place, has been renowned for its decorative and applied arts since ancient times. Cities like Nakhchivan, Ordubad, and Julfa have long served as hubs for weaving both piled and pileless carpets crafted from wool and silk. Situated along the Silk Road, the area erected towers to guard the city and passing merchants against robbers. Being at a cultural crossroads enriched the local lifestyle, which is vividly mirrored in the ornaments of Nakhchivan carpets. The design also incorporates motifs from domestic artifacts unearthed in local archaeological digs. Additionally, ornaments from the Momine Khatun Mausoleum, a masterpiece by the famed medieval architect Ajami Nakhchivani, inspire a second Nakhchivan model.
