This model is inspired by the intricate Sheki latticework patterns, a unique art form involving glass. Sheki, located in one of the most picturesque areas of Azerbaijan, is considered one of the oldest human settlements in the Caucasus, with archaeological evidence of habitation dating back over 2,500 years. The grand Sheki Khan Palace, built in the 18th century without nails or glue, is the pride of old Sheki. Latticework, which assembles pieces of wood and colored glass, was employed in the palace’s construction. Known for its masters, craftsmen, and silk producers, Sheki attracted merchants from across the Silk Road. Therefore, special attention was given to building caravansarays, or merchants’ hotels. The windows of these buildings were often adorned with latticework celebrated for its vivid colors and beauty.
