Tovuz

This model draws inspiration from the emblem of Tovuz and the ancient Tovuz carpets. Though Tovuz was only recently designated a city, the region is one of the oldest human settlements in Azerbaijan and was historically inhabited by indigenous people. This is evidenced by the many ancient monuments and unique patterns found on antique plates unearthed during archaeological excavations. Additionally, Ashuq music, an integral part of Tovuz’s folklore and culture, is symbolically represented on the pieces by the national musical instrument, the ‘Saz’.
