Garabagh
This model draws inspiration from the patterns of the Malibeyli carpet, which is part of the Shusha group within the Garabagh carpet-making school. Malibeyli carpets are named after a village near Shusha. While the village men engaged in cattle breeding and farming, carpet weaving was the primary occupation for the women of Malibeyli. The five-shaped patterns featured in these jewelry pieces were introduced to Azerbaijani art from Uyghur/Chinese traditions and seamlessly blended with the local culture due to the population’s religious beliefs and lifestyle.
