The Alexanor butterfly, also known as Papilio alexanor, is a large and striking butterfly from the swallowtail family (Papilionidae). It is native to southern Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and parts of Central Asia. An extremely rare species. It inhabits the valleys of the Aras River and extends into the mountains at elevations up to 1,750 meters above sea level within the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
