Garabagh Malybeyli

This design draws inspiration from the Malibeili carpets of the Garabakh school. The curling motifs within the medallions echo a Chinese cloudband pattern, which became part of Azerbaijani carpet art following Tamerlane’s invasions at the end of the fourteenth century.
