The inspiration for this model comes from the ornate panels of Khan’s palace in Irevan, adorned with glazed tiles and paintings. Historically, the Irevan tower and palace served as the residence for Irevan’s rulers, beys, and khans, boasting a 300-year history from the Safavid dynasty to the Qajars. Under the reign of Huseinali Khan Qajar and his son Muhammed Khan, Irevan city and its tower thrived. During Huseinali Khan’s rule, the Sardar Palace was constructed and later renovated by the esteemed architect Mirza Jafar Khoylu. After the addition of the Mirrored Salon and Summer Mansion to Muhammed Khan Qajar’s palace in 1791, the palace complex was completed as a monumental structure.

As recorded in the history of the Irevan Khanate, the Sardar Palace began to decline by the mid-19th century, with its paintings and other valuables relocated to Tbilisi in the early 20th century. Although the palace remained a city attraction during the early Soviet years, the Irevan Tower was demolished by Soviet Armenia in 1964. The fate of the palace and its treasures remains a mystery to historians.
