Islimi Buta

This piece is inspired by a fusion of two ornaments: “Buta” and “İslimi.” Buta is one of the oldest and most cherished oriental designs. Its meaning is diverse, ranging from interpretations like pinecone and palm crown to flame, a religious symbol of immanence and eternal life. İslimi is a cherished Islamic decorative motif, often referred to as a split leaf, also known as arabesque or tendril. İslimi is a beloved ornament in Azerbaijan.
