Lachak-Turunj
This piece draws inspiration from the “Lachak Turunj” composition, featuring two main elements: “lachak” (interpreted as a petal or face) and “turunj” (a bitter orange). In ancient times, turunj was a cherished gift because of its pleasant aroma. A copper tray with these fruits would be placed or hung in the middle of a room—a tradition that persists in North-East Iran. Some interpretations suggest this tradition led to the association of turunj with the center of carpets.
