This jewelry model draws inspiration from the southern regions of Azerbaijan, featuring notable elements from this area. The Crab ornament, a prominent feature of the Talysh carpet, serves as a central motif. Lankaran, mentioned by the ancient Greek historian Herodotus, traditionally translates from Persian as “an anchorage” and has been a significant trading port since antiquity. In 1743, Lankaran became part of the Talysh khanate along with Masally, Lerik, and other nearby areas. Archaeological excavations have uncovered ancient monuments, including a sword symbolizing masculinity, which is also represented in the design. The model highlights the Talysh region’s favorable climate and fertile soil, noted for exporting subtropical plants and fruits — symbolized by the lemons and tea leaves. Moreover, the Hyrcan reserve within Lankaran, home to the unique ironwood tree, is also depicted in this piece.
