Shah Abbas

This pendant draws inspiration from the palmette, named after Shah Abbas the Great, the fifth Safavid ruler (1588-1629), who established magnificent court carpet workshops in Isfahan, his capital. A complete Shah Abbas palmette design may feature cloud bands, leaves, and vases, all interconnected by islimis.
