Zagatala
This model draws inspiration from the Zakatala medallion elements, traditionally featured on long rugs. The Zakatala or Zakataly district comprises several villages about 75 miles north of Ganja in the central Caucasus. Due to its location, motifs from Zakatala should be considered alongside those of Qazakh, as they share many similarities. These motifs form a distinct group, appearing on 19th and early 20th-century rugs only recently introduced to the Western market. Besides the motifs highlighted here, Zakatala rugs also feature Lesghi stars, Memling guls, and the Fachralo medallion.
