Zagatala
The design draws inspiration from the Zakatala medallion, featured on long rugs. Zakatala, or Zakataly, is a region encompassing several villages around 75 miles north of Ganja in the central Caucasus. Due to its location, motifs from the Zakatala district are often associated with those from Qazakh, sharing many similarities. These motifs are highlighted as a distinct group, appearing on 19th and early 20th-century rugs that have only recently entered the Western market. Notably, Zakatala rugs also feature Lesghi stars, Memling guls, and the Fachralo medallion.
