Zangilan is also famous for its lush forests of old sycamore trees (Platanus orientalis) and the Vejnali gold mine. The region is known for the popular Mogam carpet designs, shared with Garabagh and Ganja. The Mammadbeyli Tomb, built in 1305, is a notable octagonal monument set amid greenery. After being occupied from 1993 to 2020, Zangilan has begun to revive its rich cultural and natural heritage.
