Gusar
This piece draws inspiration from the ornaments of Zeiva carpets, part of the Guba group in the Guba-Shirvan carpet-making region, which boasts a rich and ancient history. The carpet takes its name from a village near Gusar. An intricate star-like geometric shape, crafted with dotted lines, serves as the Zeiva carpet’s hallmark, dating back to the medieval ages. While the shape remains consistent in Guba-woven carpets, the interior design can vary, at times forming a cross shape which carries symbolic meaning.
