Khantirma

The design is inspired by vine meanders and accented with ascending butas. This motif is central to the 19th-century Khan Tirme carpet, woven in the Agjebedi district of Garabakh. “Khan” means duke, while “tirme” refers to a scarf fabric. Consequently, this ornamental pattern was traditionally intended for a duke’s scarves.
