Lachak-Turunj
This piece draws inspiration from the “Lachak Turunj” composition, featuring two main elements: “lachak” (interpreted as a petal or a face) and “turunj” (a bitter orange). In ancient times, turunj was often given as a gift for its delightful fragrance. These fruits were traditionally displayed on a copper tray placed or hung in the center of a room—a custom still observed in Northeast Iran. Some interpretations suggest this tradition led to the association of turunj with the center of carpets.
