Lachak-Turunj
This piece is inspired by the “Lachak Turunj” composition, which features two key elements: “lachak” (interpreted as a petal or a face) and “turunj” (a bitter orange). Historically, turunj was given as a gift for its delightful aroma. A copper tray holding these fruits was traditionally placed or hung in the center of a room, a custom still practiced in Northeast Iran. Some believe this tradition links turunj with the central design of carpets.
