Three Apples

I spent many cherished moments with my grandmother—whom we affectionately called “Ana,” meaning “mama” in Azerbaijani—at our village, particularly during summer holidays. We had a special tradition: at bedtime, we would enjoy country tandir bread and yogurt while she told us enchanting fairy tales. Stories of ogres, dragons, fairies, and pehlivans would fill the room. Each tale concluded with a beloved saying: “Three apples fell from above—one for me, one for the storyteller, and one for myself.”

This treasured saying inspired the design of these earrings, dedicated to my grandmother and all grandmothers.
