This ring draws inspiration from the border motif of an Indian carpet from the Mughal Era, woven between the 1500s and 1800s. Currently housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the carpet features a motif rooted in Islamic decorative culture, commonly found on prayer rugs. From the center of the border emerges a paired scroll of serrated orange leaves, outlined in striking red.
