Katabali
This bracelet draws its inspiration from the “Kataba” pattern. “Kataba” is the plural form of the Arabic word “katib,” meaning a private secretary. In carpet terminology, Kataba refers to a medallion with a cylindrical or elongated shape reminiscent of the “Göl” (lake) pattern. When the borders, especially the center border, are adorned with Kataba designs, they are referred to as Katabali. If extensive areas of a carpet feature various Kataba, they are termed Katababandlik. Occasionally, the names of the master, painter, or customer were inscribed on Kataba.
