Aghstafa

The peacock adorns carpets woven either in the Akstafa or Salyani regions of Azerbaijan. Birds, in general, are thought to embody the “water” element, symbolizing liveliness and vivacity. Peacocks depicted in carpets are believed to represent immortality.
