Multipetal Rose
In the 19th century, the Russian Empire began to embrace French fashion trends, influencing their preferences for rugs. This led to a rise in popularity for French-style rugs, particularly those featuring the cabbage rose design. As exquisite rugs were crafted in the Caucasus, this design made its way into the region, predominantly appearing in 19th-century Garabagh rugs and also found on Guba rugs. The cabbage rose is named for its abundant petals, which form a large, full bloom reminiscent of a cabbage.
