The design draws inspiration from Sheki’s distinctive latticework, an art form that intricately incorporates glass. Situated in one of Azerbaijan’s most scenic areas, Sheki ranks among the oldest human settlements in the Caucasus, with archaeological findings indicating over 2,500 years of human history. The majestic Sheki Khan Palace, a jewel of historic Sheki, was built in the 18th century without a single nail or drop of glue. The construction employed latticework, a technique combining wood and colored glass. Known as a city of artisans, craftsmen, and silk producers, Sheki attracted merchants from across the Silk Road. As a result, exceptional care was given to building caravansarays, or merchants’ inns. The windows of these structures were often adorned with latticework, celebrated for its vivid colors and beauty.
