Ganja

This model draws inspiration from Ganja carpets and the plane tree, a symbol of the city. For centuries, Ganja has been renowned for its high-quality carpets. The central motif, known as ‘Ganja,’ features butas (paisley symbols) woven along diagonal lines, a design unique to these carpets. Ganja was also the birthplace of notable poets and a key literary center in the country, influences reflected in this model’s design. The city’s strategic position at the crossroads of caravan routes has significantly impacted the socio-economic, political, and cultural life of Azerbaijan.
