This exquisite piece draws inspiration from the intricate patterns of the Malibeyli carpets, part of the renowned Shusha group from the Garabagh carpet-making school. Named after a village near Shusha, Malibeyli was a place where men engaged in cattle breeding and farming, while women dedicated themselves to the craft of carpet weaving. The five distinct patterns featured in this jewellery were originally introduced to Azerbaijani folk art from Uyghur and Chinese traditions, seamlessly blending with the local culture due to the community’s lifestyle and beliefs.
