Islimi Buta

This piece draws inspiration from a blend of two ornaments: buta and islimi. Buta, one of the most ancient and beloved oriental designs, carries various interpretations including pinecone, palm crown, and flame. These motifs hold religious significance, symbolizing immanence and eternal life. Islimi, also known as arabesque or tendril, is a cherished Islamic decorative theme characterized by a split leaf design. It is a prominent ornament in Azerbaijan.
