Lachak-Turunj

This piece is inspired by the elements of the Lechek-Turunc composition, which includes two components: lechek (interpreted as leaf or face) and toreng (the carpet’s center). Toreng is a fruit, once gifted for its pleasant aroma in ancient times. A copper tray holding the fruit was often placed or hung in the room’s center—a tradition that continues in northeastern Iran. This practice likely inspired the association with the carpet’s center.
