Lachak-Turunj
This piece draws inspiration from the “Lachak Turunj” composition, which features two central elements: “lachak” (interpreted as a petal or face) and “turunj” (a bitter orange). In ancient times, the turunj, known for its pleasant aroma, was often given as a gift. A copper tray holding these fruits would be placed or hung in the center of a room, a tradition still observed in North-East Iran. Some interpretations link this custom to the turunj’s association with the center of a carpet.
