Shah Abbas

This model draws inspiration from the palmette design named after Shah Abbas I the Great, the fifth Safavid ruler (1588-1629). He established magnificent court carpet workshops in Isfahan, his capital city. A complete Shah Abbas palmette design features cloud bands, leaves, and vases, intricately connected by islimis.
