Alpan Crab is a motif woven as a central medallion in Guba Alpan carpets. Medallion depicts the images of so called crabs, which most probably symbolize serrated leaves. According to some opinions this design derives from 18th century Azerbaijani silk embroideries or 18th century Caucasian floral carpets.
