Tovuz

This design draws inspiration from the emblem of Tovuz and its ancient carpets. While Tovuz was only recently designated as a city, it is one of Azerbaijan’s oldest regions of human settlement, home to its indigenous people. Evidence of this rich history is found in numerous ancient monuments and the unique patterns on antique plates unearthed during archaeological digs. Ashuq music, an integral element of Tovuz’s folklore and culture, is symbolically represented by the national musical instrument, the ‘Saz’, on these pieces.
