Zangazur
This jewelry piece draws inspiration from the engravings found on the Urud monument complex stones, located in the Garakilsa region of Zangazur Mahal—an area with historic Azerbaijani-Turkish roots. The complex features Urud Castle, unique gravestones in the Urud graveyard, and other historical monuments. These monuments, with their elegant artistic designs, reflect the beliefs of the ancient people who once inhabited the Zangazur area. Perched on a steep cliff, Urud Castle is flanked by the Bazarchay River on three sides and fortified walls on the fourth. Locals claim a secret underground passage leads to the river. Sadly, following the settlement of Armenians in the Zangazur area, the Urud complex’s name was changed, parts of it were destroyed, and the ancient inscriptions were altered or erased.
